Comic Book Reviews, Advertising, and The 4th Anniversary Special of The Webcomic Beacon

New Program Coming: First Issue

The Webcomic Beacon will be branching off once again to bring you First Issue. First Issue will be a look at any printed first issue comic book. Reviews will take a look at #1 issues and first issues of storylines; including back-issues. This will also be The Webcast Beacon Network’s first attempt at a VIDEO program. The idea of the show is to provide entertainment, as well as real reviews of comic books to judge if the first issue succeeds or fails to convince readers to continue buying the comic. Especially newcomers.

The reviewers consist of Fes Works, Melissa Kaercher, and Marcus Almond. All with various backgrounds in comics. More information to come late September or Early October, as they do quick reviews of DC Comics’ new 52, #1 issues!

Reviews will have one issue per episode in video form, however, for the DC 52 issues will be grouped into sets of 10 and 11 for the website (to prevent flooding).

Comic Book Reviews & Giveaways

The Webcomic Beacon is presently accepting submissions of printed comic books for on-air reviews. This is not restricted to webcomic-to-print books; however this is intended moreso for independent and self-published works, at this time.

Any and all submissions will be used as giveaways or prizes in contests, after they have been reviewed. However, do not submit if you are not willing to have a fully-honest review. While these will not be mean-spirited, they will also not be sugar-coated. If you are confident enough in your work, this is a win-win-win situation. You win for exposure, we win for content and giveaways, and listeners win for… uh… winning giveaways.

There may be submission cut-off times in the future, especially if we start getting too many submissions in a given period of time. This is something new we are trying, so please bear with that in mind. Reviews will be read on-air. It is possible that The Webcomic Beacon: First Issue crew (in all, or in part) will be reviewing the submissions.

Please send submissions to:

Fesworks, LLC
P.O. Box 22181
Robbinsdale, MN 55422

If you would like to fore-go a review, and simply submit products for us to use as giveaways in general, feel free to do so.

If there are any questions, please submit an email to WebcomicBeacon-at-gmail-dot-com with “Book submission” in the subject. I don’t really want to place any sort of restriction of content or rating of anyone’s work, but we  do reserve the right to not review submitted materials, based on content or legal concerns. So email us if you think you may have “questionable” content.

The 4th Anniversary Special of The Webcomic Beacon

Right now, any submissions received before December 2011, will be used as giveaways or prizes on The 4th Anniversary Special of The Webcomic Beacon. This may be in a combination of assorted giveaways and/or contests.

Additionally, this episode (slated for December 4th, 2011) will be open to multiple sponsors (up to 4). In turn, all sponsors of this episode will get more on-air exposure than usual. We will be pushing for a huge show, so we will be gearing up to advertise the heck out of it!

Episode Sponsorship Opportunities

Speaking of sponsorships, all episodes of all programs of The Webcast Beacon Network can be sponsored. From the beginning of The Webcast Beacon Network, all episode sponsorships were reduced to an introductory rate. Additionally, now through February 2012, sponsorship rates have been readjusted and individualized. Present sponsorships get an image link on the show post, as well as an audio ad at the beginning of the show they sponsor.

Rates are for independent and self-published persons. Corporate and Industry sponsorships are negotiable. Sponsorship rates are subject to expand and/or increase, beginning March 2012. For additional advertising information, including the pricing, please check out webcastbeacon.com/advertise.
